Communication across a wireless network is a lot like a two-way radio communication. A computer's wireless adapter translates data into a radio signal and transmits it using an antenna. A wireless router (access point) receives the signal and decodes it. The router sends the information to the Internet via a physical wired Ethernet connection. This process works in reverse for receiving Internet information, translating, and sending it to the computer's wireless adapter. Security is put into place as shown in the security solutions below.
